Commodity Derivatives Trader, Director

About the Role:

Our client- a Leading Chinese Securities Firm is seeking an experienced and dynamic Commodity Derivatives Trader to join their growing Global Markets team in Hong Kong. They offer competitive compensation package.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute and manage trading strategies for commodity derivatives.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, providing tailored risk management and trading solutions.
• Monitor global commodity markets, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic trends to identify trading opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with sales, structuring, and risk management teams to optimize trading performance and alignment with business objectives.
• Ensure strict compliance with internal and external risk, compliance, and trading guidelines.

Requirements:

• Minimum 8–10 years of direct experience in commodity derivatives trading, preferably within a Chinese securities firm or leading international bank in Hong Kong.
• Proven track record in generating consistent P&L with strong risk-adjusted returns.
• Deep understanding of global commodity markets (e.g., metals, energy, agricultural products) and derivative pricing, hedging, and risk management.
• Strong client network and experience in flow trading and structured solutions.
• Excellent academic background from a top-tier university (985/211 or QS100 preferred) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin.
• Resilient, analytical, and able to thrive under pressure in a competitive trading environment.
