Compliance Head - Corporate Banking

CLIENT BACKGROUND
Our client is a well-established corporate banking platform with a strong regional presence and a long-standing reputation for stability, governance, and prudent risk management. As the business continues to strengthen its corporate banking franchise, the bank is investing in senior leadership within its Compliance function to support sustainable growth and regulatory excellence.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a core Compliance team, work closely with senior stakeholders, and shape the compliance culture across corporate banking activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Lead and oversee the Compliance function supporting Corporate Banking, ensuring alignment with local regulatory requirements and internal governance standards
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and business heads on compliance-related matters, regulatory developments, and risk implications
• Manage and develop a team of compliance professionals, fostering a strong control mindset, collaboration, and professional growth
• Drive the design, enhancement, and implementation of compliance policies, procedures, and frameworks relevant to corporate banking activities
• Oversee regulatory engagement, including handling inquiries, inspections, and ongoing communication with regulators
• Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks, ensuring timely escalation and effective resolution
• Promote a strong compliance culture and work closely with cross-functional partners such as Legal, Risk, and Audit

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in Compliance within Corporate Banking or Corporate Banks
• Proven experience in a people management / team leadership capacity
• Strong understanding of banking regulations, compliance frameworks, and regulatory expectations relevant to corporate banking
• Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders while maintaining independence and sound judgment
• Hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A collaborative team player with the credibility to operate at senior management level
• Experience working in a well-regulated banking environment in Asia is highly preferred
