Consultant (Psychiatry)

Provide specialist services.

Supervise Residents undergoing specialist training.

Undertake teaching and administrative work.

Undergo continuing medical education and professional development.

Conduct research as appropriate.

Registered medical practitioner under the Medical Registration Ordinance; and

2.

Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Psychiatry) or equivalent; and

3.

Registered in the Specialist Register in the relevant specialty of the Medical Council of Hong Kong.

Staff members in the rank are expected to meet the 4 core competencies set for the Consultant post. They are:

- Organization effectiveness

Holding the trainer status of the Hong Kong College of Psychiatrists is preferred. 

Contribution to professional development including research, teaching and training.

A full curriculum vitae with detailed clinical exposure, an action plan and one written reference from the applicant’s supervisor within the past 5 years on the applicant’s personality, professional skills, management competency and performance are required.  

The Action Plan on the following topic, with no more than 2,000 words, should be submitted through e-recruitment system on or before the application deadline:

        “Three years’ service plan of Queen Mary Hospital psychiatric service”

The action plan is a part of the selection process.  If you do not submit the action plan, your application will not be considered.
