Data Scientist - Global Investment Management Firm - Hong Kong

Our client, a global investment management firm, are now actively seeking a Data Scientist with expertise in utilizing cloud technologies and advanced analytics to extract events from unstructured text data. This role requires developing data-driven insights and investment strategies through the application of cutting-edge Natural Language Processing (NLP) and cloud-native technologies.

The role:

• Create, implement, and sustain NLP pipelines to identify investment-relevant events and signals from extensive unstructured text sources, including news articles, regulatory filings, and reports.
• Design and execute robust data models and analytical frameworks that support both quantitative and qualitative investment research.
• Leverage AWS (Amazon Web Services) for scalable data storage, processing, and workflow orchestration.
• Collaborate with investment analysts and other data experts to establish event taxonomies and ensure extraction aligns with business requirements.
• Perform exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to improve predictive modeling and alpha generation.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, reproducibility, and data integrity throughout the development process.
• Clearly communicate findings, methodologies, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What you offer:

• 3+ years of relevant experience in data science.
