Dental Consultant

Pay :

HK$206,831 to HK$260,760 (HGPS Point 50 to 51B) per month including Monthly Allowance

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Plan, organize and manage the services of the department.
2. Provide specialist dental services including further development of the multidisciplinary oral-maxillofacial surgical service.
3. Supervise Dental Officers in respective specialist training.
4. Undergo continuing medical education and professional development.
5. To collaborate with other departments of the hospital or other hospitals in planning and implementation of new hospital services.
6. To uphold the professional standard of the department through liaison with other academic institutes and profession organizations.

Entry Requirements :

1. Registered Dentist under the Dentists Registration Ordinance; and
2. Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Dental Surgery) or equivalent; and
3. Registered in the Specialist Register in the relevant specialty of the Dental Council of Hong Kong.

Preferred Attributes / Exposure

1. Staff members in the rank are expected to meet the 4 core competencies set for the Consultant post.  They are :

   iv. Organization effectiveness.

2. Holding the trainer status of the College of Dental Surgeons of Hong Kong is preferred. 
3. Contribution to professional development including research, teaching and training.
4. Experience in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is preferred.

3. The service of Queen Elizabeth Hospital will be relocated to the Kai Tak Hospital in phases starting from year 2026.
