Job Description - Deputy Manager - Operations

On behalf of a large well-known securities brokerage, we are looking for Deputy Team Head for their Operations team.

Role Overview
The Deputy Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations function and ensuring smooth, efficient settlement and operational support across a wide range of financial products. You will partner closely with the Front Office to deliver high-quality services, while also supporting new business initiatives and maintaining strong compliance and control standards.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage operational activities

Oversee all operational aspects of the department.
Work in close collaboration with Front Office teams to provide end-to-end transaction support across IPOs, equities, bonds, derivatives, commodities, and other business lines-covering transaction processing, settlement, and asset servicing.
Manage activities such as account opening and ongoing account data maintenance to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Supervise daily settlement and operations for financial products

Monitor and manage daily operational workflows and settlement processes.
Ensure effective handling of structured financial derivatives, fixed income products, as well as futures and options.

Provide strong operational support to Front Office

Support Front Office functions including investment banking, cash management, fixed income, futures and options, structured derivatives, private banking clients, global stock settlement, and custody services.
Assist in the launch and operational enablement of new products and business initiatives.
Help ensure operational processes remain responsive to fast-changing market needs and that business operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Support strategic planning and organizational development

Help develop and refine short-, mid-, and long-term operational and business strategy.
Contribute to reorganizing and strengthening BOCI's operational framework to support future growth.

Requirements:

15+ years of experience in Securities brokerage
Good understanding of securities brokerage operations process
Solid understanding of settlement and payment systems including CCASS, Clearstream, SWIFT, RTGS and local clearing systems
Experience in managing a team is a large plus
Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin)
