Desktop Support Engineer Hedge Fund (Hong Kong)

Desktop Support Engineer – Hedge Fund (Hong Kong) We are seeking a hands-on Desktop Support Engineer to join a fast-paced hedge fund environment, supporting ~100 PCs on a busy trading floor. This is a front-line technical role, ideal for candidates with 2 to 12 years of desktop support experience, who want exposure to a demanding trading environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide front-line technical support for ~100 trading floor PCs, ensuring minimal downtime in a high-pressure environment.
2. Administer and maintain Active Directory (user accounts, group policies, permissions).
3. Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and application issues (Windows 10/11, Bloomberg, Reuters, trading apps).
4. Support network connectivity issues at the desktop level (LAN/WAN, VPN, wireless).
5. Perform PC builds, upgrades, deployments, and patch management .
6. Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, or Shell) for routine tasks and process improvements.
7. Liaise with infrastructure and trading technology teams on escalated issues.
8. Provide end-user training and documentation where needed.

Requirements:

1. 2–12 years’ experience in desktop or end-user support, ideally within a financial services or trading environment.
2. Strong technical skills in:
3. Windows OS (10/11) troubleshooting and administration
4. Active Directory and Group Policy management
5. Desktop hardware and peripherals troubleshooting
6. Familiarity with market applications (Bloomberg/Reuters) preferred
7. Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or Shell) strongly preferred.
8. Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, switches) a plus.
9. Excellent communication skills in English ; Cantonese highly preferred for local user support.
10. Strong problem-solving skills, able to remain calm and effective under pressure.
