Director, Institutional Sales, Asia – Leading Alternative Asset Manager

A leading global alternative asset manager is seeking an experiencedDirector, Institutional Sales to drive business development and fundraising activities across Asia.

This is a high-impact client-facing role focused on expanding the firm's institutional investor relationships across the region. The successful candidate will work closely with investment, product and capital formation teams to deliver alternative investment solutions spanning private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real assets strategies to sophisticated institutional investors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Drive fundraising and distribution efforts across Asia, with a focus on developing and strengthening relationships with institutional investors, including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations and financial institutions.
2. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow assets under management and expand the firm's institutional footprint across key regional markets.
3. Partner closely with investment, product and capital formation teams to effectively position the firm's alternative investment capabilities and strategies.
4. Lead client meetings, portfolio discussions, due diligence sessions and investment presentations with institutional investors and investment consultants.
5. Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers, CIOs, investment teams and consultants across the institutional landscape.
6. Manage the full fundraising cycle, from origination and prospecting through to due diligence, mandate execution and ongoing relationship management.
7. Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, investor needs and competitive developments within the alternatives industry.
8. Support fundraising campaigns, product launches and strategic client engagement initiatives across the region.
9. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless investor experience throughout the client lifecycle.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related discipline.
2. 10+ years of experience in institutional sales, fundraising, client coverage or distribution within asset management, private markets or alternative investments.
3. Established relationships with institutional investors across Asia, including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations and financial institutions.
4. Strong knowledge of alternative investment strategies, including private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real assets.
5. Proven track record of raising capital and managing senior institutional investor relationships.
6. Experience engaging with investment consultants and navigating institutional due diligence processes.
7. Excellent commercial acumen, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
8. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently while collaborating across a global organization.
9. Strong English communication skills; additional Asian language capabilities would be advantageous.
