My client is an ambitious and expanding financial services firm with a strong presence in Mainland China. As they continue to grow their footprint in Hong Kong, they are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to elevate their brand, strengthen media relationships, and drive impactful communications that resonate with investors, partners, and the broader financial community. They are looking for a Director of Branding & Media Relations who will be the architect of their brand identity in Hong Kong. This person will lead initiatives that enhance visibility, credibility, and engagement across multiple channels. It is a high-profile role requiring creativity, strategic thinking, strong connections within the media landscape, and the ability to manage, mentor, and grow a small team. The successful candidate will also work closely with the CEO of Hong Kong, ensuring alignment between branding strategy and overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of the company's branding strategy in Hong Kong.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international media.
Actively connect with media representatives and invite them to company events.
Plan and host corporate events, product launches, and investor briefings.
Promote new products and services through impactful campaigns.
Manage, mentor, and grow a small branding and communications team.
Collaborate closely with the CEO of Hong Kong to align branding and media strategies with corporate goals.
Qualification
Proven experience in branding, communications, or media relations within financial services or related industries.
10+ years of working experience in a relevant field.
Strong network of media contacts in Hong Kong.
Demonstrated leadership, team management, and team-building skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Fluency in Mandarin and English; Cantonese is a strong advantage.
Excellent communication skills in Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) and English.
Established connections with Hong Kong media and a solid understanding of local PR practices.
