The team
You will join a regional Operations Excellence function that partners with Transformation and Innovation teams, as well as market and cross-functional stakeholders, to design and implement improved operating models. The role supports governance, process standardization, performance measurement, and the adoption of digital tools—while ensuring compliance with local regulations and consistency across markets.
The role
The Director of Operations Excellence (Asia) will support the Head of Operations Excellence in defining and upholding operational standards, streamlining end-to-end processes, and embedding continuous improvement across the Asian market operations. This position applies Lean Six Sigma approaches, benefit realization assessments, and automation solutions (e.g., PowerApps, IDP, AI) to strengthen operating models and improve cost-effectiveness, reliability, and customer outcomes.
The requirements
8–10+ years of experience in operations, process excellence, or comparable leadership roles within insurance or financial services
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (additional certifications such as PMP and/or Agile are advantageous)
Deep expertise in life and health insurance processes, products, and regulatory considerations across Asia
Demonstrated success improving underwriting, policy administration/handling, and claims processes through rigorous process optimization and standardization
Experience using data and metrics to drive operational decisions, accountability, and continuous improvement
Familiarity with automation technologies and use cases (e.g., PowerApps, IDP, AI) and data analysis tools for performance tracking
Proven ability to assess emerging technologies and integrate them effectively to optimize operational outcomes
Strong ability to influence and communicate with senior executives and cross-functional teams in a culturally diverse, matrixed environment
Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills—able to communicate complex material clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proven track record delivering complex, multi-market transformation initiatives across multiple territories (with strong change management capability)
Exposure to strategy planning, scaled agile practices, project management principles, lean and systems thinking, and change management
