Director, Trade Finance & FI Coverage - Global Corporate & Investment Bank

Our client is a stable and expanding global corporate bank. They are currently looking for a Director, Trade Finance & FI Coverage - Corporate Banking to expand their business in Asia-Pacific region.

Responsibilities

1. Actively expand the FI & Trade Finance portfolio by onboarding new importer/exporter clients, maximizing the share of wallet with existing corporate accounts, and maintaining robust correspondent banking relationships with Hong Kong-based FIs
2. Originate routine export trade finance transactions, correspondent banking services, payment solutions, and risk participations tailored to FI structures.
3. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to cross-sell Global Transaction Banking (GTB) capabilities.
4. Conduct end-to-end Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and AML/Compliance risk ratings for correspondent relationships; manage continuous portfolio monitoring (documentation, client visits, credit checks).
5. Monitor market trends, ensure appropriate risk pricing, and provide on-the-ground intelligence regarding local FIs' creditworthiness and activities.

Requirements

1. Degree or above
2. 10 years + Corporate Banking NBFI/ FI Relationship Manager experience with solid sales track-record
3. Deep, hands-on experience marketing trade finance products, payment services, and correspondent banking.
4. Strong familiarity with institutional credit policies, compliance structures, and risk acceptance criteria
5. Strong understanding of the macroeconomic conditions, regulatory environments, and market landscape in Hong Kong and the wider region.
