Job Description - Director/Executive Director, Institutional Sales - Asset Management (non-Greater China markets)

The Opportunity

We are partnering with an Asian asset manager to hire a senior Institutional Sales professional at Director or Executive Director level. You will have the platform, investment capabilities and mandate to build meaningful relationships with some of the world's most sophisticated investors.

If you have a strong track record in institutional asset management sales and have built or deepened relationships with offshore institutional investors, we'd like to speak with you.

The Role

  1. Originate and develop new business with major institutional investors across any offshore markets (including but not limited to: SEA, Korea and/or Europe), driving AUM growth from initial prospecting through to mandate close.
  2. Lead the full sales lifecycle: idea generation, pitching, client onboarding and structuring of customised investment solutions.
  3. Deepen relationships with existing institutional clients through high-touch coverage, identifying opportunities to expand wallet share.
  4. Execute strategic business development and marketing initiatives to strengthen the firm's institutional presence in target markets.
  5. Partner closely with investment, product, client solutions, compliance and operations teams to deliver a seamless client experience.

Candidate Profile

  1. 8-15+ years of institutional sales or investment-related experience within asset management, with a strong and demonstrable record in raising institutional assets.
  2. Proven ability to build institutional client bases and open new geographic markets, with solid understanding of offshore institutional and regulatory landscapes.
  3. Prior coverage of Southeast Asian, Korean and/or European institutional investors is highly preferred.
  4. Fluency in English and Mandarin is required ; Korean or another Asian/European language is a strong advantage.
  5. Excellent negotiation, presentation and relationship-building skills, with the gravitas to engage senior decision-makers and investment consultants.
  6. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline; MBA or CFA (or equivalent) is a plus.
  7. Highly self-driven and proactive, comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment.
