Equity RAD Developer

Our client is a global financial institution with a strong footprint in Hong Kong and across Asia. The business is investing in front office technology to support trading desks, improve efficiency, and strengthen its broader digital transformation agenda.

The team

You will join the Asia RAD team within Global Information Technology, working closely with Equity Traders, Sales, and colleagues across Asia and Europe. The team focuses on delivering fast, practical technical solutions for front office users and on building a simple, cohesive technology environment. 

The position

We are looking for a Junior Equity Rapid Application Developer / Equity Asia Front Office Developer to support the Asia front office business. This role combines hands-on development, user engagement, production support, and automation delivery, with exposure to both business needs and modern engineering practices. 

The role & responsibilities

• Engage closely with Equity Traders and Sales in Hong Kong to understand daily needs and business development plans.
• Propose automation solutions and enhancements to existing tools and processes to improve efficiency.
• Manage the full IT delivery lifecycle, from requirements gathering through design, implementation, production release, and live support. 
• Build and enhance innovative and resilient front office tools for Asia. 
• Provide timely first-line support for urgent business requests.
• Work with Asia peers and the central team in Europe to consolidate the front office technical environment. 
• Apply IT best practices to deliver safe and reliable systems. 
• Integrate AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot into daily development work to improve speed and quality.

The requirements

• Basic knowledge of financial markets and instruments. 
• Ability to manage multiple requests from demanding users. 
• Strong ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• English required. thon and C# for webservice APIs and back-end development. 
• Advanced proficiency in React.js and JavaScript for front-end development.
• Background in VBA Excel, with the ability to read and translate algorithms into modern tech stacks. 
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is advantageous. 
• Basic knowledge of instruments such as Stock, Indices, Option, Future, Swap, and Bond.
• Basic understanding of traditional Equity Global Market businesses, Risk Management concepts, P&L calculation, and financial product lifecycle cashflows. 
• Degree in Computer Science preferred. 
• First experience in IT development for the financial industry. 
• Self-motivated, autonomous, a team player, meticulous, and able to work under pressure. 
• Familiarity with C#, Python, React.js, CI/CD tools, Docker, Kubernetes, ELK, AWS, GitHub Copilot, and Jira.
