Equity Research Analyst- Korea

Level: VP / SVP

Location: Hong Kong

Responsibilities:

• Coverage & Idea Generation: Analyst will work on the Central Research Team and be tasked with researching, evaluating, and recommending investment ideas that meet investment objectives for Portfolio Manager teams.

• Sector Focus (Preferred): Deep experience in Korean TMT – particularly Semiconductors/Hardware – is strongly preferred. Alternatively , strong generalist candidates with a proven ability to analyze multiple sectors and identify cross-industry investment themes will also be considered.

• Recommendations: Prepare recommendations via written/oral summaries to the firm's Portfolio Managers.

• Financial Modeling: Build and maintain earnings models and informational databases such as valuation and comparative analyses.

• Differentiated Insights: Draw upon a wide array of information sources (public filings, company literature, industry publications, etc.) to suggest differentiated investment ideas and insights.

• Field Research: Attend conferences, tours, and company visits – provide concise feedback to the team.

• Travel: Willing to travel for work, primarily within Korea and across Asia as needed.

Requirements / Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 7+ years of relevant public equity research experience (buy-side or sell-side) covering Korean markets.

o Preferred: Sector expertise in Korean TMT (Semiconductors/Hardware).

o Also accepted: Strong generalist background with the ability to quickly ramp up on the TMT sector and bring a multi-sector perspective.

• Language: Fluent in Korean and English (both required). Mandarin is a plus but not necessary.

• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and written communications skills.

• Work Style: Motivated, enthusiastic, hard-working, personable with strong communication skills. Capable of working independently yet as part of a team.

• Organization: Well organized with high attention to detail.
