Equity Trading Systems Developer (Python , C#)

I am partnering with a leading global financial institution seeking an experienced developer to support and enhance its equity trading technology platform. This role sits close to the front office, working directly with trading desks to deliver high-impact solutions.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and support trading applications within the Fidessa platform
• Customise and maintain Fidessa workflows, rules, and configurations to meet business needs
• Provide production support for equities trading systems, including incident troubleshooting and resolution
• Work closely with trading desks (cash equities, sales traders) to deliver system improvements and enhancements
• Design and build backend services and tools using Python and/or C#
• Develop automation solutions for trade processing, reporting, and reconciliation
• Integrate trading systems with external platforms (exchanges, OMS/EMS, post-trade systems)
• Support and troubleshoot FIX protocol connectivity and message flows
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across front-to-back trading systems
• Perform root cause analysis for system issues and implement preventive measures
• Optimize system performance, including low-latency trading and order execution flows
• Participate in full SDLC lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment
• Maintain documentation for system architecture, workflows, and processes

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong hands-on experience with Fidessa (development, configuration, or support)
• Proficiency in Python and/or C# development
• Solid understanding of equities trading environments and trade lifecycle
• Experience with FIX protocol, including troubleshooting and integration
• Familiarity with OMS/EMS systems and electronic trading platforms
• Experience working in a front-office or trading-facing environment is highly preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills with experience in production support (L2/L3)
• Knowledge of system integration technologies (e.g., APIs, messaging systems)
• Experience with databases (SQL) and data processing
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus
