ETF Fund Operation Manager

Our client is an expanding Asset Management company with over $200B AUM and growing. We are currently seeking a ETF professional to join the expanding team to support their expansion in HK and overseas. The company has grown a sophisticated clientele including sovereign wealth funds, insurers, endowment and pension funds from overseas.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the fund manager in managing various ETF portfolios, including but not limited to equity, leveraged/inverse, and alternative strategy ETFs, with particular experience in the sophisticated operation of overseas (Hong Kong inclusive) ETF portfolios;

• Deeply involved in the entire ETF lifecycle operation, including key aspects such as creation of Commitment/Redemption Forms (PCFs), cash substitution management, and tracking error analysis;

• Proactively liaise with and collaborate with participating dealers (PDs) and market makers to efficiently handle daily transaction processing, liquidity coordination, and handling of anomalies;

• Build and maintain automated monitoring tools, utilizing tools such as Python and Excel to perform daily monitoring of PCF data verification, net asset value estimation, and risk indicators (such as tracking deviation, portfolio concentration, and liquidity coverage ratio);

• Track ETFs on major exchanges in Hong Kong and globally. Provide operational optimization suggestions to the team based on regulatory updates, product innovation, and market best practices.

Job Requirements:

• Solid ETF Operations Skills: Familiar with the operating mechanisms of Hong Kong ETFs, including IOPV calculation, PCF creation, creation and redemption rules, and fund valuation methods;

• Ecosystem Collaboration Ability: Understand the roles of various parties in the Hong Kong ETF ecosystem, including product managers, market makers, custodians, and index companies, and possess practical communication and collaboration experience;

• Excellent Language Skills: Fluent in written and oral communication in Mandarin and English; Cantonese proficiency is a plus (facilitates efficient communication with local Hong Kong institutions);

• Proficient in Technical Tools: Proficient in Excel (including VBA) and able to develop daily monitoring scripts using Python to improve operational efficiency and accuracy;

• Detail-Oriented and Proactive: Highly sensitive to numbers, possesses a strong sense of responsibility and cross-team collaboration awareness, and can consistently produce high-quality output in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.
