Job Description - FICC Credit Structuring - Director

About Us:
Huatai International Financial Holdings Company Limited (“Huatai International” or “the Company”), is the only overseas wholly-owned or controlled subsidiary of Huatai Securities. Huatai International is the Huatai Group’s international arm which plays as a crucial role in the group's internationalization strategy by:
a) not only providing offshore capital market services (and a global business platform) but also provides onshore clients with valuable cross-border capital market services (aligned with the mainland China government’s policies and commercial intentions);
b) actively making use of Huatai Securities’ leading position, distribution network and customer base in mainland China;
c) integrating on a global basis across many jurisdictions and regions, a successful and fully integrated international financial platform with innovative financial services solutions.

Huatai International operates as a holding company for consolidating all of the group’s cross-border businesses and companies under one umbrella, offering a truly unified and international business platform. In recognition of such international strength, the renowned international rating agency Standard and Poor’s has assigned Huatai International a “BBB+” rating (for long term) and “A-2” (for short-term).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in‑depth analysis of credit markets, including corporate bonds, credit default swaps (CDS), credit indices, and other credit‑related instruments. Monitor credit spreads, default trends, and macroeconomic factors affecting credit risk.
  • Design and develop customized credit solutions for clients, including but not limited to credit‑linked notes (CLNs), total return swaps (TRS) on credit assets, credit options, and portfolio credit derivatives.
  • Structure credit solutions to meet client investment, hedging, or financing needs, while optimizing for capital efficiency, risk‑return profile, and regulatory constraints.
  • Draft and promote internal NPA/DPA processes, standard operating procedures, and legal documentation. Collaborate with legal, risk, and operations teams to establish product trading, booking, and settlement workflows.
  • Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, and client feedback. Proactively propose product enhancements and new credit structuring ideas.
  • Work closely with Sales & Trading teams to originate and execute credit transactions, enhance product competitiveness, and improve client engagement.
  • Ensure all credit solutions comply with internal risk policies (credit risk, counterparty risk) and external regulatory requirements.

Qualification:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum 7+ years of structuring experience, with a focus on credit products (credit derivatives, structured credit, corporate bonds, or CDS). Experience in credit solutions for institutional clients is strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of credit asset characteristics, credit curve construction, default probability modeling, recovery rates, and correlation risk. Familiarity with credit pricing models (e.g., structural vs. reduced‑form models) and risk metrics (DV01, CS01, jump‑to‑default).
  • Hands‑on experience in credit‑linked notes (CLNs), credit default swaps (CDS), index tranches, total return swaps on credit baskets, and other structured credit products.
  • Strong spirit of innovation and independent thinking, with the ability to propose novel credit product designs and solutions in a dynamic, complex market environment.
  • Highly collaborative, able to influence cross‑functional teams (sales, trading, legal, risk, operations), and thrive in a fast‑paced trading environment.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English (written & spoken) is mandatory.
