Finance & Accounting Associate (SFC Type 1, 4, 9) - Toptier Buyside

The Role

We are seeking a meticulous and logically-minded Finance Associate to join our team. This is a pivotal role where you will go beyond standard bookkeeping, gaining direct exposure to regulatory reporting (FRR) and compliance for SFC Type 1, 4, and 9 licensed activities. You will play a key part in maintaining our financial integrity and supporting our growth in the Hong Kong financial market.

Key Responsibilities

· Regulatory & Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and review of SFC Financial Resources Rules (FRR) returns and other regulatory filings.

· Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage daily operations, including bookkeeping, journal entries, and bank reconciliations. Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.

· Operational Excellence: Oversee the AP/AR cycle, ensuring timely supplier payments and efficient customer invoicing/collection.

· Audit & Tax Coordination: Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors, preparing comprehensive audit schedules and documentation.

· System & Process Optimization: Support the implementation of new financial systems and contribute to the continuous improvement of internal controls and workflows.

Requirements

· Experience: 2–3 years of relevant experience in audit, professional accounting firms, or corporate finance.

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. HKICPA students or members are highly preferred.

· Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of IFRS, HK taxation, and advanced Excel skills.

· Mindset: A "professionally skeptical" approach—you are someone who verifies data, questions anomalies, and ensures accuracy before forming conclusions.

· Communication: Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese.
