Our client is an asset management firm in Central, holding an SFC Type 9 (Asset Management) license, with a strong focus on Greater China markets.
The Role
The Finance Manager will be responsible for full-set accounting for the firm’s own books as well as fund-level administration. This role requires a hands-on professional who can work independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Fund Accounting:
Handle full-set accounting for the management company and assigned funds, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, monthly closing, and reconciliations.
Fund Administration Support:
Prepare fund net asset value (NAV) calculations, fee accruals (management fees, performance fees), and investor allocation reports in coordination with external administrators.
Regulatory & Financial Reporting:
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Support SFC Type 9 regulatory filings and ensure compliance with relevant financial reporting standards.
Cash & Treasury Management:
Monitor cash flow, fund transfers, and foreign exchange transactions across multi-currency portfolios.
Audit & Tax:
Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors for year-end audits and Hong Kong profits tax filings. Prepare audit schedules and tax computations.
Internal Controls & Processes:
Maintain robust internal controls, document accounting policies, and support process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Key Requirements:
Experience:
3–5 years of hands-on experience in full-set accounting, specifically gained from fund administration or asset management firms. Candidates with audit experience covering SFC-licensed funds are also welcome.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Professional Qualification:
CPA (HKICPA / ACCA or equivalent) is preferred, but candidates actively pursuing the final stage will be considered.
Language Skills:
Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English (written and spoken) – essential to communicate with internal stakeholders, Mandarin-speaking investors, and external partners in Greater China.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and experienced with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, FlexSystem, or similar). Knowledge of fund admin platforms is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Detail-oriented, able to meet tight deadlines, strong analytical mindset, and capable of working independently in a small team environment.
