Job Description - Finance Manager - Workforce & Continuous Improvement

The challenge is to:

  • Overall Business owner for Store Ops Workforce Labour Hours and Budget Models tools (across specified banners / markets) for target hours, target costs and workforce rostering requirements (including roster patterns) for local operations and finance, incorporating new data inputs as part of Digital Roster Platform.
  • Leads the end-to-end the annual store labour budgeting and forecasting process for both Hong Kong and Singapore markets, working with local Finance, Operations and HR functions on required outputs for both senior management presentations and also necessary data outputs for local finance system uploads
  • Partner with local operations teams to create and support to execute Store Labour Productivity (Continuous Improvement) and Transformation Plans plus realization of such benefits across the workforce Labour Models, rostering tools and store financial budgets.
  • Partner with upstream SSC functional experts (IT, Finance, Supply Chain, commercial teams) as well downstream store operational experts to measure, model and cost out new business initiatives.
  • Partnership with People (HR) and Operations Teams to support developing and execute operational workforce strategy.
  • Present and summarise future workforce business forecasts (e.g. Store Budgets) to senior management as-well as coordinating to collect and interpreted results to inform relevant business stakeholders.
  • Coach, Inspire and lead a small /junior team direct reports (and non-direct reports) on workforce planning best practices of Workforce Planning and Continuous Improvement by establishing a framework that continuously monitor and analyse the shape and performance of the current workforce and roster patterns against with actual performance.
  • Overall logic owner for the target cost and budget models for all banners providing insight and opportunities with proposed mix and cost mix assumptions.
  • Support on ad-hoc analysis/projects relating to Finance as requested by Management.

Do you have experience in Retail or FMCG Industry?

  • A Bachelor's or post graduate qualification in Commerce, Finance, Business Systems, or a similar field (preferred). Professional qualification such as CPA or CFA will be an advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role or experience within retail / FMCG industry or labour-intensive industry
  • Some operations experience working in a retail environment is a plus.
  • Extensive experience influencing and building long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
  • Leadership experience for both direct line (and non-direct) management of team members in communicating, inspiring and delegating effectively.
  • Strong commercial acumen with data modelling and budgeting experience.
  • Advanced skills analysing complex data and presenting insights (ideally using BI tools such as Tableau) in a commercial manner.
  • High learning agility, highly developed problem-solving skills, together with a good risk lens and attention to details.
    Knowledge of programming languages like Excel, SQL, Python or R, plus familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau or Power BI).
  • Sound mathematics skills (e.g., statistics, algebra).
  • Advanced ability to perform exploratory data analysis and experience with common data science toolkits with knowledge of statistics.
  • Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua/Mandarin speaking and writing ability is an advantage.
