Finance Senior Associate/ Assistant Vice President (Asset Management)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Senior Associate/ Assistant Vice President to join our dynamic finance team. This role is critical in managing the financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and strategic analysis of our SFC Type 9 licensed asset management business. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in the financial operations of a management company, including proprietary capital and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for the management company in accordance with HKFRS/ IFRS
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all journal entries and account reconciliations are completed accurately
• Maintain and enhance strong internal controls over financial reporting
• Take primary responsibility for the preparation and timely submission of the Financial Resources Rules (FRR) returns to the SFC
• Serve as a key point of contact for regulatory inquiries and external audits, coordinating effectively with auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient process
• Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
• Track, allocate, and analyze corporate expenses, working with various departments to manage and understand costs
• Manage and account for the firm's proprietary capital, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting
• Prepare and coordinate the filing of the firm's corporate tax computations and returns, liaising with external tax advisors as necessary
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance reporting efficiency, and improve data integrity

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant finance experience within an SFC Type 9 licensed asset management firm
• Hands-on experience with the preparation and submission of SFC FRR reports
• Proven experience in the accounting and management of proprietary capital
• Strong understanding of HKFRS/IFRS, particularly regarding financial instruments
• Practical experience in corporate taxation
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to liaise effectively with auditors and articulate financial information to senior management
• Proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is highly preferred
• Progress towards a professional qualification such as CPA is strongly preferred
