Fund Accountant

Job Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and team-oriented Fund Operation candidate to join our Fund Accounting team. This role sits within the operation team large asset management companies, focusing on end-to-end fund operational and accounting processes. The ideal candidate will own daily operational tasks, ensure high data accuracy, support risk control and process standardization, and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver smooth fund operation workflows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform daily and monthly fund accounting routines, including cash and position reconciliation, trade booking and P&L calculation in a timely and accurate manner to ensure consistent fund data integrity.
2. Perform and review daily fund NAV calculation, price publication and portfolio valuation strictly in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, guaranteeing zero operational errors.
3. Partner with Settlement team for day-to-day trade support, corporate action processing and cash flow monitoring to mitigate operational risks.
4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline end-to-end operational workflows, standardize daily operations and ensure full regulatory compliance.
5. Coordinate annual fund audit activities, support audit planning and confirmation follow-ups, and assist in preparing and reviewing fund financial statements to meet regulatory deadlines.
6. Drive continuous process automation and participate in new product launches and assist in designing customized operational workflows for new business scenarios. Undertake other ad-hoc operational projects and tasks assigned by the team.

Job Requirements

Working Experience:

1. 4–8 years of relevant experience in buy-side / sell-side fund operations, fund accounting, middle office, fund administration or financial audit.
2. Hands-on experience in ETF and Hong Kong MPF operational workflows is a strong plus .

Business & Product Knowledge

1. Competent in reading and understanding fund financial statements with solid professional judgment.
2. Solid understanding of NAV generation processes and fund accounting reconciliation procedures; familiarity with trade settlement workflows is highly preferred.
3. Sound understanding of full-cycle fund operations and end-to-end backend workflows, covering trade settlement to fund accounting finalization.
4. Familiar with diverse financial products including equities, bonds, futures, FX and OTC instruments, with fundamental understanding of mainstream investment strategies.

Personal Attributes

1. Able to perform daily operational duties diligently and conscientiously, with strong accountability and quick learning agility.
2. Possess strong data sensitivity and rigorous attention to detail, capable of maintaining high operational accuracy when handling high-volume and repetitive daily tasks.
3. Self-driven and proactive, with the ability to work independently and efficiently deliver ad-hoc tasks and project requirements.
4. Great team player with solid cross-team communication and collaboration skills to support overall team operational delivery.

Academic & Technical Skills

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines and above.
2. CPA qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
3. Proficiency in MS Office suite; VBA and Python skills are a strong advantage.
4. Possess IT system thinking and Geneva system operation is a bonus.
5. Fluent in both English and Mandarin.
