Head of AI Quantitative Hedge Fund

On behalf of a top-tier quantitative hedge fund we are seeking a head of Artificial Intelligence.

Important points to note:

1. This role will preferably be based in Shanghai (full relocation package available). However, we can consider the other listed locations if necessary.
2. Candidates must speak fluent Mandarin.
3. The compensation package will match international norms for the industry.
4. You must have direct AI/ML experience at top-tier prop trading firms and/or quantitative hedge fund(s).

Role:

Build from 0 → 1.

No fixed pipeline. No legacy constraints. You define:

1. The AI stack
2. Research workflow
3. How models go live

End-to-End Ownership with Real P&L Impact:

1. Take ideas from research → production → live trading.
2. Be directly accountable for whether it makes money.

Work on Problems Where AI Actually Matters:

Focus on areas where ML can move the needle:

1. Market microstructure
2. Cross-asset signals
3. Execution-aware modeling

Build a Small, High-Signal Team

Real Compute to Move Fast

Requirements:

1. 5+ years of experience in quantitative trading, preferably inHFT / MFT environments
2. Direct AI/ML experience at top-tier prop trading firm(s).
3. Fluent in Mandarin
4. Master’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Physics, or other relevant disciplines. This will very likely be from a top-tier university.
