Head of Corporate Communications, Asia | Global Private Bank

Summary

A prestigious international financial institution is seeking a high-impact Director to lead their Corporate Communications function across the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Hong Kong, you will report directly to the regional leadership and serve as the primary strategic partner for the bank's core business lines.

This is a mandate for a proactive communicator to elevate the firm's profile through sophisticated storytelling and high-level media engagement.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Reputation Defense: You will safeguard the firm's standing through proactive issues management and the development of coordinated response strategies.
2. Narrative Excellence: You will be responsible for crafting and editing high-quality storytelling content, ranging from thought leadership and press releases to internal staff communications and digital collateral.
3. Strategic Media Relations: Acting as the regional lead for media engagements, you will maintain deep relationships with key partners in Hong Kong and Singapore to maximize brand influence.
4. Industry Recognition: You will drive the regional awards strategy, collaborating with internal teams to secure high-impact recognitions that showcase the firm’s expertise.
5. Holistic Brand Representation: You will ensure the brand is impeccably represented across every channel, including digital platforms, social media, and print materials.
6. Engagement & Events: Beyond traditional PR, you will support the planning and delivery of premium client events and internal engagement initiatives that support commercial objectives.
7. Insights & Analytics: You will track media coverage and campaign performance, reporting insights back to leadership to drive continuous improvement.

Your Profile

1. Industry Tenure: 8+ years of communications and media relations experience within the financial services industry.
2. Linguistic Skills: High proficiency in spoken and written English and Cantonese is essential. Mandarin and Simplified Chinese skills are considered a significant advantage.
3. Technical Expertise: Proven experience in event management and a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
4. Core Competencies: A highly motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal skills who can work both independently and collaboratively across different geographical locations.

Note: Candidates with less experience will be considered for a Corporate Communications Manager title.
