Head of Equity Capital Markets - Asian Investment Bank

A leading Chinese investment bank is seeking a Head of Equity Capital Markets to lead its ECM franchise and drive origination, execution, and client coverage across equity and equity-linked transactions. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced ECM banker with strong Greater China market relationships and a proven track record across IPOs, follow-on offerings, block trades, placements, and other strategic equity financing solutions.

Key responsibilities

1. Lead ECM origination and execution across Hong Kong and Greater China markets, including IPOs, follow-on offerings, block trades, private placements, and equity-linked transactions.
2. Develop and maintain deep relationships with corporates, institutional investors, and internal stakeholders to support deal flow and distribution.
3. Build and manage a high-quality pipeline of ECM opportunities and help deliver revenue growth for the platform.
4. Oversee transaction execution, including deal structuring, marketing materials, investor engagement, and coordination with legal, compliance, syndicate, research, and sales teams.
5. Provide market insight and strategic advice to clients on capital raising, positioning, and execution strategy.

Candidate profile

1. Extensive ECM or investment banking experience, ideally with senior leadership exposure and a strong execution record.
2. Demonstrated success originating and closing ECM transactions, particularly IPOs, placements, block trades, and follow-on offerings.
3. Strong network across issuers, investors, and market intermediaries in Hong Kong and Greater China.
4. Commercial mindset, excellent client-facing skills, and the ability to lead a platform with autonomy and judgement.
5. Fluency inEnglish, with Mandarin and/or Cantonese highly advantageous for the Hong Kong market.
