PURPOSE

• Lead the development of FWD's investment operations, technology, and data platform to support a scalable, manager-of-manager Investment TOM.
• Build an integrated front-to-back operations backbone (platform, data, shared services) to improve efficiency, control, and decision-making
• Enable scalable, automated, and well-governed operations to support growth in AUM and complexity

KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES

• Technology & platform: Define and deliver the investment technology roadmap (IBOR/OMS, data platform, reporting), including system integration and modernization
• Operations model: Design and implement a standardised, centralised operating model leveraging shared services and automation
• Data & governance: Establish a unified investment data platform and lead data governance, data quality, and reporting standards
• Process optimisation: Streamline end-to-end processes (trade support, settlement, reconciliation, asset servicing, collateral, reporting). Focus on cash management and ensuring high visibility across the whole organization
• Automation & innovation: Deploy RPA, AI/GenAI, and workflow automation to reduce manual touchpoints and improve efficiency
• Risk & control: Partner with Risk and Compliance to embed robust operational controls, monitoring, and regulatory compliance
• Vendor & integration management: Manage technology vendors and ensure seamless integration with external managers, custodians, and service providers
• Cross-BU coordination: Drive standardisation across BUs while ensuring local regulatory requirements are met
• Middle office: responsible for the control later between front and back to ensure compliance, performance monitoring, custody interfaces and data standards management
• Team leadership: Build and lead a centralised operations and platform team, including shared services capability

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• 15+ years of experience in investment operations / platform / middle-office / technology roles in asset manager, bank, or insurer
• Strong track record in front-to-back platform transformation and operations scaling
• Degree in Finance, Technology, Engineering, or related discipline; experience in data / systems transformation preferred

KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Deep understanding of investment operations lifecycle (trade, settlement, reconciliation, reporting)
• Experience with investment systems (IBOR, OMS, data platforms) and system integration
• Strong expertise in data governance, data architecture, and reporting frameworks
• Familiarity with automation tools and AI/GenAI applications in operations
• Understanding of regulatory and operational risk requirements in insurance investments
• Strong vendor management and cross-functional coordination capability
