Head of Model Risk, Investment Bank

A leading Chinese Investment Bank is looking to hire a senior model risk candidate who can potentially lead the team. This role will focus on developing and implementing robust model risk policies, providing oversight and governance of model development and validation processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Professional proficiency in Mandarin and English is required. Master degree/PhD in relevant area is preferred.

• Establish and maintain a comprehensive model risk management framework, including policies, procedures, and governance structures
• Oversee the independent validation of models used in risk management, pricing, and investment decisions, ensuring their soundness and reliability
• Ensure adherence to local and international regulatory standards related to model risk, including Basel III and relevant guidelines
• Conduct ongoing assessments of model performance and risk exposure, identifying potential weaknesses and areas for improvement
• Work closely with business units, risk management teams, and senior leadership to foster a strong culture of model risk awareness and accountability
• Prepare and present model risk reports to senior management and the board, highlighting key findings, potential risks, and mitigation strategies
