The Head of Procurement will play an integral part in developing and driving the group-wide procurement strategies and execution for the Shangri-La Group which is a diverse and integrated global portfolio comprising quality hospitality real estate and investment properties, wellness and lifestyle assets. The Group owns, operates and manages 100+ hotels under our family of brands: Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La, Traders, and Shangri-La Signatures.
As our Head of Procurement, we will rely you to:
Procurement Strategy
- Develop and drive execution of procurement strategies for the Group to achieve cost, quality, governance, sustainability and customer experience goals and targets, ensuring alignment with overall group strategy.
Procurement Leadership and Team Effectiveness
- To lead procurement teams in the Group to deliver annual and long-term procurement goals and targets in close collaboration with HQ and Regional business leaders.
- Control costs while ensuring quality and customer experience. Identify and realize cost efficiency opportunities across the group, including group contracts, centralized procurement offices, digitalization etc.
- Strengthen procurement governance to eliminate malpractices, fraud and controls financial, operations, cybersecurity, reputation and other risks, including implementing monitoring and control measures for internal processes and external suppliers and vendors.
- Standardize and implement best-practice procurement processes across the group, drive innovations and transformation to enable business scalability without scaling up costs.
- Mentor and develop future leaders within the procurement function, including developing successors for key roles.
Innovation & Transformation
- Build team capability in digitalization and data analytics to maximize procurement process efficiencies.
- Streamline, digitalize and automate procurement processes in sourcing, contracting, purchasing, receiving, payments, supplier and supply chain management processes and activities.
- Maintain systematic, analytical and results-based method for monitoring supplier’s performance and conduct periodic review of suppliers and vendors.
- Ensure successful multi-year implementation of ERP.
We are looking for someone who is/ has:
- Minimum of 15 years of procurement with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Deep experience, expertise and proven track record in procurement processes transformation and cost optimisation, having worked with large organizations of similar scale and complexity.
- Familiarity with supplier networks of construction materials, hotel supplies and F&B (fresh/frozen/etc.) is required.
- Strong strategic thinking, stakeholder management and leadership qualities.
- Proven track record in strategy development and execution, including demonstrable expertise in fraud prevention.
- High energy level with a strong ability to work in an agile, fast-paced environment, collaborating across diverse cultures and time zones and with all stakeholders.
