Job Description - Head of Trade Finance Operations

Your new company

A well-established bank is looking for a Head of Trade Finance Operations to join their Trade Finance services & Bills Operations team.

Your new role

Perform checking, approval, and investigation of daily Trade Finance Operations activities, including Import L/C issuance and amendments, bill booking and payments, document checking, Bank Guarantees, and Trust Receipts, as well as Export L/C-related products (e.g., Advising, Confirmation, Discounting, Collection), Factoring and Open Account Trade Finance
Conduct L/C document checking and process both Import and Export loans
Supervise daily operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Reviews and makes important decisions on complex matters relating to operations of Bills and Factoring
Ensure trade operations in compliance with the policies and guidelines laid down by the Bank, especially those of AML/Compliance
Drive system automation and lead process improvement initiatives to reduce manual intervention and operational risk; support system implementations and business transformations
Process Trade Finance transactions in accordance with International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) rules and the Bank's internal policies and procedures
Respond to customer enquiries related to Trade Finance and Import/Export bills, ensuring prompt and professional communication
Ensure all transactions comply with the Bank's internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory guidelines
Undertake any ad hoc projects or assignments as directed

What you'll need to succeed

Bachelor's degree related field
At least 15 years of experience in trade finance operations
Strong leadership skills with at least 5 years' experience in managing teams
Familiar with International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) rules and key international trade regulations: ICC Rules, UCP600, ISBP, URC522, URDG758, SWIFT Code 7xx for trade finance transactions
Holder of Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS)
Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua.
