Operations Associate - Leading Hedge Fund | Hong Kong

I am partnering with a well‑established, high‑performing hedge fund in Hong Kong seeking an exceptional Operations Associate to join its growing platform.

This is a broad, high‑exposure role offering direct interaction with investment, finance, and external counterparties. The successful candidate will sit at the core of the firm’s infrastructure, supporting a multi‑asset investment strategy within an institutional‑grade operating environment.

The Role

Fund Operations

1. Oversee daily trade lifecycle management across asset classes, including confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation
2. Liaise closely with prime brokers, custodians, administrators, and counterparties to ensure seamless operational flow
3. Partner with the fund administrator on NAV oversight, cash management, and month‑end close processes
4. Proactively identify and resolve trade breaks, fails, and discrepancies
5. Maintain robust operational controls, records, and internal reporting frameworks
6. Support onboarding of brokers, counterparties, and investor accounts (documentation, KYC/AML, compliance coordination)
7. Assist with regulatory reporting and operational compliance matters
8. Contribute to ongoing process enhancement and infrastructure optimisation initiatives

Finance & Administrative Oversight

1. Manage firm‑wide expense processing and reconciliations
2. Oversee end‑to‑end reimbursement workflows in accordance with internal policy
3. Handle accounts payable/receivable, including coordination with legal, audit, technology, and other service providers
4. Support annual audit and tax processes through documentation and data collation
5. Maintain confidential documentation and structured filing systems
6. Research Operations Support
7. Coordinate earnings call schedules and distribute relevant information to the investment team in a timely manner

Required Experience

1. 1-5 years’ experience in fund operations, prime brokerage, fund administration, or financial services
2. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline
3. Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products, and the trade lifecycle
4. Excel skills; familiarity with Bloomberg or similar systems
5. Highly detail‑oriented, organized, and process‑driven
6. Proactive mindset with the ability to operate autonomously in a dynamic environment
7. Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capability

Desirable - but not a deal breaker

1. Prior hedge fund or asset management experience
2. Exposure to OTC derivatives, swaps, or fixed income products
3. Familiarity with fund accounting and administrator reconciliation workflows
4. Experience with OMS/PMS platforms (e.g., Advent, Geneva, Enfusion, Broadridge)
