Infra Engineer

Key Areas of Responsibilities

• Adherence to best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
• Work in close cooperation with colleagues in other times zones to provide seamless follow-the-sun server support
• Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers
• Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks
• Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
• Collaborate closely with the team to develop and implement automation strategies and simplified deployment processes
• Participate in Disaster Recovery and BCP drills as needed
• Manage Physical server infrastructure using remote access
• Manage and maintain virtual machines in our internal ESX farms as well as in our public and private cloud
• Build new physical and virtual servers as per company standards
• Work closely with Applications Development, Applications Support, Innovation, Build and Release and Project Management colleagues
• Provide weekend support for scheduled weekend changes as required
• Provide on-call support during off hours if needed
  

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science or related
• Around 3 years relevant experience, in Vmware and Windows System Administration
• Knowledge on Linux/Windows : RedHat/ Microsoft both physical and virtual environment
• Must have hands on experience with physical/VM server deployments and commissioning
• MS Windows OS knowledge
• Good communication skills and a strong affinity for continuous improvement
• Collaborative and curious, someone who enjoys working with others
  

Additional requirements:

• Good to have have experience / knowledge of various HPE or other server hardware and architecture
• Automation experience using scripting language such as Shell, Perl and/or Python scripting
• Knowledge of Veritas cluster and Veritas Storage Foundation products
• Knowledge on cloud technologies (AWS)
• ITIL V3, Project Management
• Additional Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE) will be considered an advantage
