Job Description - Institutional Sales Director

Institutional Sales Director

Our client is an organisation expanding their institutional business, committed to fostering a collaborative and dynamic workplace culture focused on client success. The role involves driving client acquisition and revenue growth within the financial services sector. It requires engaging with high-profile institutional clients and collaborating with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions. This position is pivotal in strengthening the organisation’s presence in the market and ensuring excellent service standards.

Role Overview:
The Institutional Sales Director will lead efforts to prospect and acquire new institutional clients, manage and deepen existing relationships, and promote the organisation’s prime brokerage, trading platform, Bond Connect, and multi-asset capabilities. The role involves working closely with various internal teams to meet sales targets and capitalize on market opportunities, contributing significantly to the company’s growth in the region.

Key Skills & Experience:
• 6+ years of institutional sales experience in brokerage, prime services, or asset management
• Exposure to the China/Hong Kong market is a strong plus
• Solid network with institutional investors
• Good knowledge of cross-border products (Stock Connect, Bond Connect, derivatives, etc.)
• SFC licensing (especially Type 1) preferred
• Fluency in English and Mandarin; Cantonese is an advantage
• Self-driven with strong results orientation
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, or related fields

Key Responsibilities:
• Prospect and acquire new institutional clients such as hedge funds, asset managers, family offices, and corporates
• Manage and deepen relationships with existing clients through regular engagement and tailored solutions
• Promote prime brokerage services, trading platform, Bond Connect, and multi-asset capabilities
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality client service
• Meet and exceed sales and revenue targets
• Stay updated on market trends and identify new business opportunities
• Participate in industry events and client meetings

Requirements:
• Right to work in the relevant jurisdiction
• 6+ years of relevant experience in institutional sales
• Knowledge of cross-border financial products
• Strong network and client relationship skills
• Relevant licensing or certifications (preferred)
• Experience with the China/Hong Kong financial markets advantageous
• Willingness to work onsite in Singapore

Nice to Have (Optional):
• Additional language skills such as Cantonese
