Job Description - IT Product Manager (FICC)

Our client - a Leading Chinese Securities Firm is seeking an experienced IT Product Manager to join their Data Center.

Position: IT Product Manager (FICC Trading Systems)

Core Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Dual background in Financial Engineering / Finance is advantageous.
  • 5+ years of IT experience within the financial industry, with at least 3 years in hands-on project management of FICC business systems.
  • Proven track record in leading projects for proprietary trading/market-making platforms or mid-/back-office clearing, risk, and settlement systems.
  • Deep understanding of FICC front-to-back workflow: fixed income trading, market-making quoting engines, clearing & settlement mechanisms, real-time risk controls (e.g., VaR), and compliance monitoring.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant tech stacks: low-latency trading architectures, distributed systems, DolphinDB/MySQL, and middleware integration.
  • Proficient in project management frameworks (Waterfall/Agile); PMP/PRINCE2 certification is a plus.
  • Familiar with Hong Kong SFC regulatory standards for brokerage IT systems; experience in regulatory audit cooperation is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese, with the ability to drive meetings and produce clear documentation.
  • Resilient under pressure, adept at problem-solving in fast-paced environments, and skilled in coordinating multi-stakeholder resources.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle for FICC proprietary trading, market-making, and mid-/back-office support systems—from requirements gathering, solution design, and development to implementation, launch, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with front-office trading teams (Proprietary Trading, Market Making) and mid-/back-office functions (Settlement, Risk, Compliance, Finance) to analyze business needs and define system boundaries (e.g., quoting engines, position management, real-time risk modules).
  • Drive system implementation and architecture optimization for FICC platforms, including low-latency trading deployment, clearing automation, and cross-market data integration.
  • Coordinate internal resources (development, testing, operations) and external vendors (exchanges, data providers) to ensure seamless system integration and compliant interface connectivity with counterparties and custodian banks.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks (technical, timeline, compliance), maintain risk registers, and develop contingency plans—with focus on data integrity and risk model validation.
  • Support regulatory engagements, including SFC inspections, to ensure all deliverables comply with financial industry IT standards. Maintain full project documentation and audit trails.
  • Establish regular communication across business, technology, and support teams; synchronize project progress, resolve resource conflicts, and lead key review meetings.
  • Prepare project updates and report on status, risks, and resource needs to senior management.
