Legal Counsel - Global Hedgefund

A leading global multi‑strategy hedge fund is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support its Asia platform. This is a highly commercial, front‑office‑facing role, working closely with trading, investment, and risk teams across multiple strategies.

The role offers significant autonomy and exposure to the business, and will suit a lawyer who is comfortable operating in a fast‑paced trading environment and making independent legal judgments.

• Act as a trusted legal advisor to investment, trading, and risk teams across a broad range of products
• Provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice on global markets and trading activities
• Draft, review, and negotiate trading, financing, and other commercial documentation
• Advise on legal and regulatory issues impacting investment strategies
• Partner closely with front office, risk, and operations teams
• Operate with a high degree of independence, managing external counsel selectively where appropriate
• Be embedded within a global legal function, with regular interaction with international counterparts

• Strong technical understanding of financial products and trading documentation
• Commercial, solution‑oriented mindset
• High‑quality drafting and negotiation skills
• Comfortable operating in a desk‑facing, high‑intensity environment
• Confident making independent legal decisions and managing risk
• Common law qualified (US, UK, or Hong Kong preferred)
