About Our Client
Our client, a Chinese single-family office, is seeking an experienced Legal Manager to support the family's global investments and wealth planning structures. The ideal candidate will be a PRC-qualified lawyer with strong cross-border transactional experience and familiarity with private wealth and trust matters. This role involves close collaboration with family principals, investment teams, and external advisors, requiring a high level of integrity, independence, and discretion.
Job Description
Provide legal support for the family's overseas investment activities, including private equity, venture capital, real estate, fund investments, and strategic acquisitions.
Review, draft, and negotiate transaction agreements and support the execution of cross-border deals.
Conduct or manage legal due diligence and coordinate with international counsel.
Monitor PRC and international regulatory developments related to outbound investment.
Advise on family trust structures, wealth transfer, and long-term succession arrangements.
Coordinate with trust companies, fiduciary service providers, and tax advisors across jurisdictions.
Review trust deeds, letters of wishes, and corporate documentation relating to the family's holding structures.
Support compliance with PRC and overseas legal requirements for family investment entities and holding vehicles.
Assist with internal policies and risk management processes.
Oversee or support corporate governance and secretarial matters for domestic and offshore entities.
Prepare, review, and negotiate diverse commercial agreements.
Provide legal advice on ad hoc matters related to business operations and family affairs.
Manage relationships with external legal advisors and ensure cost-effective support.
The Successful Applicant
PRC-qualified lawyer with 7+ PQE from a reputable PRC or international law firm.
Strong background in cross-border investments, M&A, funds, or related transactional practices.
Experience or familiarity with family trust, wealth planning, or private client work is preferred.
Strong understanding of PRC regulatory regimes affecting outbound investment and asset management.
Excellent command of Mandarin and English.
Mature, discreet, and able to work independently in a confidential environment.
Experience in a family office, investment firm, or multinational is a plus.
