About the Role

The Company

Our client is a global wealth management firm based in Hong Kong. We are seeking an experienced Loans – Business Development Manager.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Loan – Business Development Manager. to expand our financing and refinancing activities across Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia. The successful candidate will leverage their industry knowledge and established contact base to originate mid-market loan opportunities, primarily through referrals from auditors, lawyers, and other professional networks.

This is a senior-level role, integral to our growth strategy, with direct reporting to the CEO (Hong Kong) or Senior ED (Singapore).

Key Responsibilities

1. Source and refer small-to-mid cap clients through professional networks (auditors, lawyers, advisors).
2. Originate loan transactions averaging USD 10–15 million, with potential to scale up to USD 50–100 million.
3. Assess collateral and repayment structures, focusing on jurisdictions with clear regulatory enforcement (HK, SG, MY preferred).
4. Identify and evaluate financing opportunities across listed and non-listed companies, including high-quality real estate.
5. Structure financing, refinancing, and bridging loans with tenors up to 3 years, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness.
6. Collaborate with colleagues in multiple offices already engaged in similar origination activities.
7. Maintain strong client relationships and ensure timely communication and execution.

Requirements

1. Experience: Proven track record in loan origination, corporate finance, or investment banking at a senior level.
2. Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of regional financing markets, regulatory frameworks, and enforcement practices.
3. Network: Established contact base among auditors, lawyers, and mid-market corporate clients.
4. Skills: Strong negotiation, structuring, and relationship management capabilities.
5. Location Flexibility: Based in Hong Kong or Singapore, with regional exposure preferred.
