Job Description - Manager, HR Digital Transformation - Human Resources Office

Reporting to the Head of HR Digital Transformation, the appointee will play a key role in driving the University’s digital transformation agenda, with a focus on designing practical digital solutions, enhancing user experience, supporting ERP preparation and implementation, and enabling sustainable process and operating model change.

The appointee will be responsible for:

  • Support digital transformation initiatives across HR services, from problem identification, solution design, implementation planning to change adoption;

  • Work closely with business users, IT teams, vendors and consultants to understand business pain points, translate user needs into digital requirements, and co-design fit-for-purpose solutions;

  • Apply design thinking and user-centric approaches to map user journeys, identify “moments that matter”, prototype future-state workflows, and improve employee and manager experience;

  • Support ERP preparation and implementation activities, including business requirement gathering, process-to-system mapping, fit-gap analysis, solution blueprinting, testing, data preparation and rollout planning;

  • Act as a bridge between business and technology teams to ensure digital solutions are aligned with process design, operating model, data governance, user experience and long-term scalability;

  • Develop business cases, project plans, implementation roadmaps, solution options, evaluation criteria and management presentation materials to support decision-making;

  • Manage end-to-end project delivery, including scope, timeline, risks, issues, dependencies, stakeholder engagement, vendor coordination, testing and deliverable quality;

  • Support change management activities, including stakeholder analysis, impact assessment, communication planning, training coordination, adoption tracking and post-implementation review;

  • Keep abreast of emerging digital HR / enterprise technologies, including ERP, workflow automation, AI-enabled tools, self-service platforms, case management and analytics, and assess their relevance to the University context.

Applicants should have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or above in Information Systems, Business Administration, Human Resources, Computer Science, Management, Digital Transformation or a related discipline;

  • At least 8–10 years of relevant experience in digital transformation, ERP / HRIS implementation, business analysis, product management, process re-engineering, consulting or large-scale system implementation;

  • Solid experience in designing and implementing digital solutions, preferably in HR, higher education, public sector, professional services or complex matrix organizations;

  • Good understanding of ERP systems such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle Fusion, PeopleSoft or equivalent platforms;

  • Strong product mindset, with the ability to define user needs, prioritize requirements, shape solution concepts, evaluate trade-offs and deliver practical MVP / phased implementation approaches; ability in building prototypes by leveraging AI tools and designing, developing AI solutions in HR domain would be a strong advantage;

  • Experience in applying design thinking, user journey mapping, service design, prototyping or agile delivery methods to improve user experience and service outcomes;

  • Strong project management capability, with experience managing cross-functional workstreams, vendors, consultants, project risks, timelines, testing and implementation deliverables;

  • Good knowledge of change management, stakeholder engagement, communication planning and adoption enablement in digital or organizational transformation projects;

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect business processes, system design, data flow, governance requirements and user experience;

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation and documentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at different levels and translate complex technology topics into clear business language;

  • High proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese;

  • Self-motivated, collaborative, hands-on and resilient, with the ability to work independently under ambiguity, manage competing priorities and build trusted relationships with business users, IT teams and external partners.

(Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
