Manager/Senior Manager, Financial Reporting - Large Corporate Bank

My client is a reputable Corporate Bank in Hong Kong. The finance department is now looking for a new Manager to support financial reporting & control duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee hedge accounting, ECL (expected credit loss) models, and complex instrument accounting to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Establish and strengthen financial control frameworks, including internal controls over financial reporting, segregation of duties, and risk mitigation procedures.
• Monitor and enforce adherence to accounting policies across the bank; identify policy gaps and recommend updates or enhancements.
• Coordinate with business units, product teams, and system development on accounting requirements for new products/systems.
• Liaise with regulators, external auditors, and internal stakeholders on accounting policy interpretations, regulatory inquiries, and compliance matters.
• Conduct policy reviews, post-implementation assessments, and training to promote consistent application of accounting standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/finance or related
• Qualified Accountant
• 5+ years minimum experience in financial accounting / financial reporting within banks, with experience in accounting policy and financial control
• Strong communications in Cantonese, English and Mandarin
• Self-starter, proactive, ability to work independently and under pressure
