The
Secondary school stretches across two campuses which are conveniently located
very close to each other. One located in Upper
Happy Valley at Blue Pool Road and another at Jardine’s Lookout and
accommodates over 900 students from both streams. The International Stream
follows a IPC/IEYC thematic curriculum in its Primary section, leading to IMYC
in years 7 -9, Cambridge IGCSE subjects in years 10 & 11 before the
pre -University International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in years 12 and
13. It currently has approx. 1300 students registered.

Teacher of Mathematics & Science, International Stream Job Outline

Contract Term: Two years
renewable from mid -August 2026

An
exciting opportunity has arisen for a teacher of Mathematics and Science at
FIS.  We are seeking an inspirational and
energetic person to teach in the Secondary Middle school. The successful
candidate will have a proven track record of academic success, innovation and
development throughout their career.

This
is a period of growth for the Secondary section of the International Stream,
with extra classes due to join us from August 2026. Our junior classes take a
Mathematics course which is planned thematically following the IMYC guidelines.
IGCSE students all take the International Mathematics course from CAIE, with
the more able also sitting for the Additional Mathematics examination.  IGCSE students all take at least one, and up
to three Sciences from Biology, Chemistry and Physics. At IB level, the school
offers both Applications & Interpretation and Analysis & Approaches
courses at HL and SL for Mathematics and offers Physics, Chemistry, Biology
& Computer Science at HL and SL, as well as ESS at SL only.
