Collaborating with senior leadership, business units, and stakeholders, the team develops effective operational strategies and provides guidance on process design, implementation, and management to align operations with business objectives. Specializing in trade processing, settlement, custody, and asset servicing, Nomura's Operations team is renowned for delivering exceptional client service. With a strong record, commitment to innovation, and global reach, the department is poised to drive growth and success in the financial industry.


 


 


Role Description:


We are seeking an Associate to join our Middle Office team, focusing on cash equities operations. This role offers the opportunity to work at the interaction with the key senior business and corporate stakeholders.


 


 


Key responsibilities include: 



  • Daily cash equities processes for Australia market support local and overseas client.

  • Manage trade lifecycle events to support the desk for trade amendments, allocation, confirmation and settlements

  • Lead reconciliation process between Front office system and external counterparties

  • Collaborate with desk to resolve operational issues and optimize workflow efficiency

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal trade controls

  • Supervise and develop junior members while fostering a culture of excellence

  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency

  • Interface with clients, brokers and custodians to resolve any issues

  • Monitor and report on key operational metrics and risk exposures


 


 


Requirements 



  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/ economics/ Maths/ Accounting or Business-related subject

  • Min 5 years of relevant working experience in middle office, preferable in cash equities

  • Strong understanding of the Asia equities market

  • Experience in major trading platforms and settlement systems

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong leadership to drive improvement and efficiency.

  • Proficient in Excel, SQL or other tech tools will be useful.
