Job Description - Network Expansion Lead - FinTech

POSITION OBJECTIVE

This is a key, mid-senior level role in our Commercial team, focused on driving our company's global expansion. We are looking for a motivated and hands-on leader who thrives on building from the ground up, blending strategic thinking with a bias for execution. You will be responsible for growing our ecosystem by building and nurturing relationships with banks, card networks, blockchains, FinTechs, and infrastructure providers. This role offers a clear path toward greater ownership, specialization, and leadership for a strong performer.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Lead market assessments in new jurisdictions, including ecosystem analysis, regulatory feasibility, competitive benchmarking, and customer segmentation.
  • Scout, structure, and negotiate partnerships with banks, card networks, BIN sponsors, settlement banks, FinTechs, digital asset exchanges, liquidity providers, and infrastructure partners to enhance our offerings and reach.
  • Operationalize new partnerships by coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth launch, from initial scoping to go-live.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, banks, FinTechs, and legal counsel.
  • Provide insights into regional FinTech and digital asset trends to inform broader strategic decisions.
  • Help shape the commercial function as we scale and grow the company.
  • Have the opportunity to hire and grow your own team after proving yourself capable of strategizing and executing on complex initiatives.
  • Have 8+ years of experience in commercial expansion, partnerships, or business operations at a FinTech, digital asset, or global tech company. A background in startups is a significant plus.
  • Possess a deep understanding of how money moves globally, from traditional payment rails like ACH and SWIFT to local payment schemes.
  • Have a proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects with multiple senior stakeholders.
  • Are fluent in English, with fluency in a second language such as Mandarin, Portuguese, or Spanish being a strong advantage.
  • Understand how to navigate compliance and regulatory complexity in global FinTech markets.
  • Are a self-starter with strong judgment and a bias toward execution.
  • Think in frameworks but are comfortable operating in ambiguity, turning scattered insights into clear direction.
  • Have a commercial mindset and are comfortable talking to partners, clients, and regulators alike.
  • Enjoy travel and on-the-ground discovery, as this role may require frequent regional trips.
