Network Operations Engineer - Hong Kong - Hedge Fund

A growing global infrastructure team is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to support and enhance 24/7 operations across a diverse and complex network environment. The role focuses on maintaining high-performance, low-latency, and globally distributed systems, while driving operational excellence and automation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and develop monitoring dashboards; respond proactively to alerts and refine the observability stack.
• Lead post-incident reviews; identify opportunities to improve availability and reliability.
• Deliver BAU changes through automation, collaborating closely with trading, research, and engineering teams.
• Perform trend and capacity analysis using multiple data sources.
• Define and maintain SLOs for high-availability network services.
• Support network automation, CI/CD pipelines, orchestration tools, Ansible, Python, GitOps practices, and related tooling.
• Review and release changes into production with high attention to quality.

Required Skillset

• Experience supporting and troubleshooting:
• Low-latency LAN (Multicast, BGP, PTP, FPGA, Layer 1 switching)
• Datacentre HPC (VXLAN, EVPN, RoCEv2, leaf/spine)
• WAN, Internet, and cloud connectivity (MPLS, BGP)
• Strong diagnostic and vendor-engagement skills for deep investigation.
• Solid understanding of metric collection and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Networking knowledge at CCNP level or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to participate in future on-call and out-of-hours rotations.
