About our client

A leading multi-market life insurer is seeking a senior distribution leader to head the development of its agency leadership pipeline across the group. Sitting in the central agency function, the role sets the group-wide approach to growing the quality and number of agency managers and works with country teams to put it into practice.

Responsibilities

• Design the group framework for identifying, financing and developing agency managers, and support country businesses in adapting and implementing it locally


• Track the size and quality of the agency leadership population across markets and translate the data into insights, targets and practical recommendations for country teams


• Work with the central distribution function and other stakeholders to shape and deliver the group's overall agency plan


• Advise country businesses on the design of incentive and financing arrangements used to attract and grow agency leaders


• Step in to provide hands-on agency management leadership within a country business when requested


• Build agency leadership and management capability across markets by capturing and sharing what works from one country to another


• Contribute to growing agency channel new business by increasing both the number and the calibre of agency leaders

Requirements

• Substantial leadership experience in the life insurance industry, the majority of it in tied-agency distribution


• Hands-on knowledge of agency leader development, quality recruitment and agency training, ideally including experience leading an agency channel at country level


• Proven ability to influence and persuade executive-level stakeholders without direct line authority


• Strong strategic thinking, commercial judgement and problem-solving ability, with a transformation mindset


• Comfortable working independently and leading cross-functional initiatives across multiple markets


• Familiarity with structured project management approaches


• Degree in business, commerce, actuarial science or a related discipline


• Fluent written and spoken English; an additional Asian language is an advantage
