New Job Opening: Director - Core Banking Solution Architect in HK

A globally recognised technology consulting and digital transformation firm is seeking an experienced Director – Solution Architect to join its growing practice in Hong Kong.

The successful candidate will lead complex technology transformation programmes for major financial institutions, with a particular focus on core banking modernisation, enterprise architecture, application transformation and large-scale systems integration. This is a senior, client-facing leadership role combining deep technical expertise with strategic advisory, team leadership and business development responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end solution and enterprise architecture across complex digital transformation programmes within the banking and financial services sector.


• Define technology strategies and architecture roadmaps covering core banking modernisation, legacy transformation, application modernisation and systems integration.


• Act as a senior technology advisor to CIOs, CTOs and executive-level stakeholders, translating business objectives into scalable technology solutions.


• Provide architectural leadership across backend platforms, APIs, microservices, integration layers and cloud environments, ensuring solutions meet security, scalability and regulatory requirements.


• Lead and develop multi-disciplinary technology and architecture teams, while establishing architecture governance, standards and best practices across major engagements.


• Drive pre-sales, solution shaping, proposal development and business development, building senior client relationships and contributing to the growth of the firm's FSI technology practice.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience across solution architecture, enterprise architecture, application development or technology transformation, including significant experience at Director, Associate Director, Principal or equivalent level.


• Proven track record leading large-scale technology transformation programmes within banking or financial services, ideally involving core banking modernisation.


• Strong expertise with core banking platforms such as Temenos, Finacle, Flexcube or similar, alongside deep knowledge of backend architecture, APIs, microservices and integration.


• Extensive experience across legacy transformation, data migration, application modernisation and cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure or GCP.


• Demonstrable experience leading large technical teams and engaging credibly with CIOs, CTOs and senior technology stakeholders.


• Proven consulting experience with strong commercial, pre-sales and business development capabilities, alongside excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
