New Job Opening: Head of Safety - Construction in HK

About our client

A leading industry organisation responsible for supporting the development, standards and long-term advancement of Hong Kong’s construction sector is seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Safety.

The role will work closely with government, regulators, contractors, professional bodies and other key stakeholders to develop safety initiatives, promote best practices and encourage the adoption of innovative technologies and construction methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead industry-wide construction safety initiatives, campaigns and collaboration programmes to promote higher safety standards across Hong Kong.


• Provide expert advice on construction safety practices, including technical guidance, best-practice guidelines, safety alerts, Design for Safety initiatives and industry publications.


• Conduct research into emerging construction methods, safety technologies and international standards, identifying opportunities to improve safety performance and industry adoption.


• Build strong relationships with government, regulators, contractors, training organisations and other industry stakeholders to understand safety challenges and drive practical improvements.


• Support industry committees and working groups on construction safety, translating strategic recommendations into practical programmes and initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree in construction, engineering or a related discipline; professional qualification in construction safety would be advantageous.


• 12+ years of post-qualification experience within the construction sector, with strong exposure to construction safety and/or safety management.


• Proven ability to develop strategies, manage complex projects and implement industry-wide initiatives independently and effectively.


• Strong stakeholder management and networking capabilities, with experience engaging government, regulators and senior construction industry stakeholders.


• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese; strong knowledge of Hong Kong construction practices and safety standards.
