Manager – Insurance Operations Transformation

About our client

A leading global consulting firm is expanding its Insurance Transformation practice in Hong Kong and is looking for an experienced Insurance Operations Transformation Manager to join its growing team.

The successful candidate will combine strong insurance industry knowledge with consulting, transformation and stakeholder management capabilities, working closely with senior client leaders to turn operational challenges into practical, measurable improvements.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of insurance transformation engagements, partnering with business and functional leaders to understand operational challenges, define priorities and translate them into actionable transformation plans.


• Analyse the end-to-end insurance value chain, identifying opportunities to simplify processes, remove operational inefficiencies and improve the experience for customers, distributors and internal teams across areas including underwriting, new business, policy servicing and claims.


• Shape and implement future-state operating models, bringing together people, processes, technology, data and automation to create more scalable and commercially effective insurance operations.


• Design practical performance and productivity frameworks, helping clients establish the right KPIs, governance structures and management information to measure operational improvements and realise transformation benefits.


• Lead workshops, stakeholder discussions and requirements gathering sessions, challenging existing ways of working and converting business needs into clear process, operating model and transformation requirements.


• Manage key project activities through to delivery, including workplans, governance, risks and dependencies, while building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and supporting proposals, account development and the coaching of junior consultants.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience within insurance operations, transformation, change or management consulting, with a track record of contributing to or leading significant business transformation initiatives.


• Strong practical knowledge of Life, Health and/or General Insurance, with exposure to core operational functions such as underwriting, new business, policy administration, servicing or claims.


• Experience delivering operating model change, process redesign, operational improvement or transformation programmes, ideally within a consulting environment or a major insurance organisation.


• Commercially minded and analytical, with the ability to break down complex operational problems, identify improvement opportunities and develop pragmatic solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.


• Confident working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams, with strong influencing, presentation and communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment.


• Fluent written and spoken English and Cantonese; Mandarin would be advantageous.
