New Job Opening: VP - IT Operations & Risk in Hong Kong

About our client

A well-established financial services firm is hiring a senior technology operations and risk lead to safeguard the stability and security of its trading environment. This is a hands-on leadership position, split between governance and day-to-day platform ownership.

Responsibilities

• Own the resilience of mission-critical trading platforms, including continuity and disaster recovery planning, regular failover testing, data protection and access management


• Identify and escalate technology and operational risks, lead incident investigations and root-cause reviews, and follow corrective actions through to closure


• Design and maintain the firm's cybersecurity controls and user-access model across front-, middle- and back-office teams


• Act as the main contact for auditors and regulators on technology matters, tracking remediation against regulatory expectations


• Deliver infrastructure projects such as platform upgrades, security patching and new deployments, while managing vendors, procurement and service levels


• Write and keep current the firm's incident response plans and IT policies, and run awareness training for staff


• Oversee end-user and infrastructure support, covering devices, servers, networks, remote access and Microsoft 365 administration

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline


• Substantial track record running IT operations in a regulated financial environment, ideally brokerage or banking


• Solid technical grounding in high-performance trading infrastructure, Windows and Linux server environments, enterprise networking and relational database administration


• Demonstrated experience building security frameworks and implementing controls, as well as managing continuity and recovery programmes


• Strong understanding of financial-sector regulatory requirements, with sharp risk awareness and the composure to troubleshoot in high-pressure situations
