The University is seeking dynamic and focused professionals in the built environment to join the Estates Office.


Responsibilities:



  • Support the Estates Office by carrying out repairs and maintenance management duties;

  • Supervise routine repairs and maintenance of the University properties; 

  • Supervise ad hoc repair and maintenance works;

  • Manage the contractors for building repair works, including preparing and issuing works orders under the term contracts or main contracts;

  • Assist in supervising contractors to ensure quality and up-to-standard workmanship and output;

  • Assist in supervising a term of artisans for day-to-day repair works;

  • Assist in coordinating and supervising external consultants, work contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance;

  • Represent the Estates Office in communicating with internal and external counterparts as required regarding building repairs and maintenance; and

  • Perform other tasks as required by supervisors.


Requirements:



  • A recognised associate degree or higher diploma in Building/Construction/Surveying/Architectural studies or a related discipline with minimum two years of relevant work experience; 

  • Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese; 

  • The ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic and changing environment with a service-orientated mindset and positive manner to communicate with others; and

  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.


Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.


Applicants with less relevant work experience may be considered for the post of Assistant Officer.


The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years.  Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.


Salary will be commensurate with professional qualifications and experience.
