Operations Manager, Equity Team

Key Responsibilities

• Global Settlement & Reconciliation : Perform Global market daily equities settlement, handle corporate action events, and conduct position reconciliation.
• SBL & Agreement Registration : Prepare daily settlement for Securities Borrowing & Lending (SBL) and handle GMSLA agreement registration to HKIRD.
• Placement Settlement: Perform Placement settlement, monitor settlement status, and follow up on outstanding settlements with clients and counterparties.
• Settlement Monitoring : Coordinate instructions and communication with upstream custodians, and follow up on outstanding settlements and items with clients and counterparties.
• Process Control : Ensure the smooth running of daily settlement processes and comply with internal policies and procedures.
• Projects & UAT : Participate in system implementation, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and ad-hoc projects as assigned.
• Shift Duties : Perform tasks assigned by the team head; this role may involve shift duties on public holidays.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in securities settlement, preferably with exposure to Global Markets.
• Solid understanding of Global Equities, Equity Options, and SBL settlement lifecycles. Knowledge of corporate actions and tax reporting is preferred.
• Familiarity with Euroclear and back-office settlement systems.
• Proactive, independent, able to work under pressure and overtime.
• Proficient in MS Excel. Knowledge of Excel VBA / Python, and AI agents preferred.
• Fluent in written/spoken English and Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua required.
