Patient Care Assistant II (Medicine and Geriatrics) [Ruttonjee & Tang Shiu Kin Hospitals]

Key Responsibilities

1.Direct contact with patients and provide various supporting services.

2.Provide supportive assistance during care process and assist in examination and other investigative procedures.

3.Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the clinical setting.

4.Perform daily disinfection, care and maintenance of medical equipment.

5.Assist in coordination work of patient flow.

6.Perform reception services, e.g. answer telephone and explain simple information to patient and etc.

7.Provide patient education as according to protocol.

8.Assist in clinical audit and data analysis.

9.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Entry Requirements:

1. Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent; and

2. Completed structured departmental training (see Remarks); and

3. Holding certificate of the Health Care Assistant Course / Care-related Support Worker Course accredited by Hospital Authority (HA)*; and

4. Good command of English and Chinese, written and spoken.

Preferred Attributes/Exposure

1.Self initiative, self-motivate and able to work independently.

2.Relevant experience in hospital setting will be an advantage.

3.Good communication and interpersonal skill.

4.Willing to work irregular hours.

   2.   Applicants who do not meet entry requirements (2), if find suitable, will be employed to undergo at least 6 months’ on the job training including the structured departmental training. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training.

   3.  Serving staff who completed F.3/ S.3 with at least 2 years' care-related experience may also apply. Candidates who have completed the JUMP program organized by the HA are considered to have attained F.3/S.3 level.
